Antique Gold Plated Hair Combs From Spain (Peinetas de fallera Combs)

Sold together as a set* These Fallera combs, known in Spain as peinetas, are ornate, decorative hair accessories worn by women (falleras) during the Las Fallas festival in Valencia. These traditional combs are placed in the hair to secure and adorn the elaborate buns (or "monos") characteristic of the regional hairstyle. Usually these come in a set of 3 combs, with a very large main comb. The main large comb from this has been missing for probably 50 years. These are only the accent combs. These are probably tin or aluminum with a gold plating on the outside. They are very thin, and the gold plating is coming off in some places due to the age of these being over 100 years old. They have very intricate designs on them and are good to be used as hair decorations.
